Support Manhattan College's School of Liberal Arts and the Rights of Tenured Faculty

It has come to our attention that Manhattan College, under the current administration of President Milo Riverso, is planning on implementing a number of changes that would negatively impact Manhattan College’s first and oldest school, the School of Liberal Arts. In addition to previously announced decisions like school mergers and the cancellation of classes that do not adhere to new capacity requirements , Riverso’s administration plans to eliminate a number of tenured faculty according to a “last in first out” system, a policy that disproportionately affects women and faculty of color and denies all tenured faculty the promise of job security that they worked so hard to achieve. We encourage alumni, current students, faculty, staff, and friends of Manhattan College to sign and share this petition objecting to the elimination of tenured faculty. In addition, we ask that you write directly to the parties listed below and voice your support for Manhattan College’s School of Liberal Arts and its faculty—individuals who engage in the Lasallian mission of nurturing the personal and professional successes of their students every day.LIST OF INDIVIDUALS TO CONTACTMANHATTAN COLLEGE LEADERSHIPMilo Riverso, Presidentpresident@manhattan.edumilo.riverso@manhattan.eduRani Roy, Provostprovost@manhattan.edurani.roy@manhattan.eduKelly Marin, Associate ProvostKelly.marin@manhattan.eduLydia Gray, Assistant Vice President Marking and CommunicationsLydia.gray@manhattan.eduBOARD OF TRUSTEESLEADERSHIPStephen Squeri, Chair of Board of TrusteesSsqueri.trustee@manhattan.eduBrother Frank G. Demand the Removal of RF Cell Towers Installed Near Residential Areas by Crown Castle

The residents of Olympia Heights, Miami-Dade, FL are deeply concerned about the recent installation of Radio Frequency (RF) cell towers in close proximity to our homes by Crown Castle. These towers emit electromagnetic fields (EMFs), which several studies suggest may have harmful effects on human health. A study published in the International Journal of Oncology found a correlation between long-term exposure to low-intensity EMFs and certain types of cancer (International Journal of Oncology, 2010). Additionally, the World Health Organization classified RF radiation as "possibly carcinogenic to humans" in 2011.We understand that these cell towers are crucial for improving telecommunications infrastructure. However, we believe that public health should not be compromised for technological advancement. We urge local authorities and Crown Castle to consider relocating these towers away from residential areas or adopting safer technologies. This is not just a fight for Olympia Heights; it's a fight for every community facing similar issues across America. Let's stand together and demand action now! Please sign this petition urging Crown Castle and our local government to prioritize our health over convenience.

Reduce the Female Founders Funding Gap

My name is Emma. For as long as I can remember, I have been a music fan; it is part of my family’s fabric. So much so that when I was eighteen, I started my own music label. I signed a few artists, wrote and negotiated contracts, managed the bands and got them shows! That experience led me to a major label, which then brought me to a world class concert venue, and then to the premiere global live entertainment company. Collectively, this gave me fifteen years of music marketing experience.Throughout that time, I earned a Bachelor’s degree, a Masters in Business Administration, and I am now working towards a law degree in entertainment law. I have always been ambitious and have strived to achieve my goals. Everything has come with hard work and long hours, sometimes requiring working two to three jobs while attending classes. However, I never shied away from the required efforts because the harder I had to work, the more gratifying the accomplishment. This ambition led to spending two and a half years building a female-owned entertainment company, while in law school. This company was to be built on the principles of advocacy and diversity. Everyone would have a place, a voice, and a community to share their passion. The only thing it lacked was funding.I sought funding with great expectations, with an open mind and excitement of making my vision come true. That came to a complete halt when I was introduced to a company called DelMorgan & Co. What I did not know is that only two percent of female companies have the opportunity to be funded and that only eight percent actually get funded. I was in mere desperation, but was told that DelMorgen would solve all my problems. It wasn’t long before I realized that I was wrong! After a couple of weeks of conversations with DelMorgan, I was led to believe that funding was guaranteed and would only take three months. Because of this guarantee, I agreed to pay their enormous engagement fee of $150,000.00. This fee is not only almost double my annual salary, it required me to take out copious loans. Alongside the loans that I will be paying off for the next eight years, I accepted money from my elderly father who prior to giving me the much-needed funds said, “let’s go and achieve your dreams.” He, too, believed in my vision.Based on DelMorgan’s assurances, I thought I would be advised, coached and led to the promised land of finance. Instead, I was met by a group of men who were rude, lacked respect, and showed an intolerance toward me during our first meeting. Ultimately, DelMorgan’s promises landed flat. They were only able to secure one meeting after allegedly reaching out to 120 companies, which equates to a 0.8% success rate. Arrogance overpowered a conversation about what it would take to get funded and communication ceased over the following months. It appeared that DelMorgan lacked the experience to raise funding for this type of company; however, insisted that they deserved the full amount that they were paid. I was left with a sense of frustration and helplessness knowing that DelMorgan made minimal efforts and could not care less about whether the company was funded. Not to mention, I had paid them my life savings and was left with a dismantled company and no viable path forward. My motivation to start the music label at eighteen was to advocate for artists rights and to protect them from unfavorable agreements. Ironically, I am in the exact situation I sought to save artists from. I am bound by a severely one-sided agreement that has allowed DelMorgan to walk away with $150,000.00 without providing any sort of services that deserve that sort of excessive payment. I worked my entire life to avoid being in debt, I even earned scholarships to help pay for school. Yet, I am now left with crushing and debilitating debt because of believing in a company that took advantage of my confidence in their abilities and my desperation for an investment firm to see beyond my gender.I write this knowing that others may not have experienced the exact situation, but may have experienced something similar. Maybe we share similar experiences by trying to grow a small business with big dreams, or when sitting in a room filled with men that don’t see us for who we truly are and what we have to offer, or have been taken advantage of because of the extreme disparity in available business opportunities. Now my goal is to turn lemons into lemonade. I hope that this experience can be a platform for change. Specifically, change that will close the gender gap in funding available for female-founded companies. Please join me in demanding change by signing this petition today!

Sign the petition to keep CapMetro’s daycare open.

I am deeply concerned about the potential loss of childcare services provided by Bright Horizons. This partnership is not just a contract; it is a lifeline for dozens of families like mine who rely on these services to balance work and family life. The first request of this petition is to renew the contract with Bright Horizons for at least one year. A shorter term would leave us scrambling to find alternative childcare solutions. If CapMetro leadership ever decides as a last resort to end the partnership with Bright Horizons, we insist on an additional contract renewal to accommodate at least a 3-year transition plan. Such an approach would give affected families ample time to adjust without causing undue hardship, as waitlists are getting longer and many are currently close to 2 years. The transition plan should also include staff dedicated to ensuring our daycare teachers—many who have cared for our babies for more than 15 years—find new employment and are not left without a job.The importance of reliable childcare cannot be overstated - it has been shown that lack of access can negatively impact job performance and productivity (source: U.S Department of Labor). As such, maintaining our relationship with Bright Horizons not only supports employees but also contributes directly towards the efficiency and effectiveness of our public transportation system. Please join me in urging CapMetro leadership to prioritize its employees' needs by extending its contract with Bright Horizons. Reopen the Unsolved Disappearance/Murder Case of Kim Nguyen (Aged:8) of Garland Texas.

At around 7 AM on July 18th, 1993, Kim Nguyen an Eight-Year-Old Autistic Vietnamese boy from North-East Garland vanished from his neighborhood, after an eleven-day search Kim's remains were located in Mesquite Texas a bordering town to the south, the Medical Examiner determined Kim's cause of death as homicide, however, the exact cause of death was undeterminable due to the state of the remains. While the Garland Police Department did have a potential "Vehicle Of Interest." nothing came of it and it seems the lead wasn't properly followed, the Autopsy wasn't even conducted correctly according to a former M.E I spoke with. This case was quickly forgotten and has somewhat stayed that way although I've done my best efforts to bring this case back to light.I have written a full synopsis about this case on Reddit and the M.E report which can be seen here. There are many people who were affected by this case:The City Of Garland who felt that Garland Police gave up too soon when they pulled officers away two-three days into the search potentially wasting vital time to widen the search area. The family who has never gotten answers to what happened to their son.the city of Mesquite who while they may have never known about the boy as much as the residents of Garland they were still affected and when Signs pleading for information were placed in both cities vanished and weren't replaced they like Garland felt that the department gave up too soon.My hope is that this petition will cause both departments to reopen their files on this case, there hasn't been a solid mention of it since 1997 and I feel it's sitting somewhere in storage. Kim deserves justice, he was just a kid and there may still be a killer on the loose who knows they've gotten away with such a horrific murder.I deeply care about this case, I started looking into it in 2012-2013 after hearing mentions of it from Mesquite Residents and was shocked at how many people remembered the initial disappearance and finding but didn't think much of it, ever since I've written about it more and more people know about the case and are wanting justice like myself. If this case gets reopened there's a chance to give Kim and his family the justice that they've deserved for the past Twenty-Seven years. If this fails I will still pursue this case in hopes of perhaps petitioning for it again.Thank you for taking the time to read this.

This case was quickly forgotten and has somewhat stayed that way although I've done my best efforts to bring this case back to light.

I have written a full synopsis about this case on Reddit and the M.E report which can be seen here.

Fair Share for Dental Care

Fair Share For Dental Care Act.House Bill H-7082 and Senate Bill S-2724PATIENTS OVER PROFITSPATIENT PREMIUMS SHOULD GO TO PATIENT CAREFor too long, big dental insurance companies have lined their own pockets by taking advantage of patients. They have made it harder for people to get the care they need, and dentists are advocating to deliver more access, more transparency, and more value for your smile through accessible dental care. Patients deserve to know how their dollars are spent.Put simply, patient premiums should go to patient care. As much as 40% of patient premium dollars go to executive compensation, bonuses, administrative expenses, and corporate profits, instead of being directed to patient care. This bill will reduce out-of-pocket costs for patients. And by reducing out-of-pocket costs for patients, not only will dental care be more affordable, but it will also encourage more people who wouldn’t normally go to the dentist to get dental care. Please take thirty seconds and sign the petition. Prevent the Closure of Our Lady of Mercy Academy

I am a proud graduate of Our Lady of Mercy Academy, an all-girls school in Nassau County, NY. My daughter is currently a student there. This institution has been instrumental in shaping the lives and futures of countless young women for 95 years. Now, we are faced with the heartbreaking news that our beloved school is closing at the end of this year. Our Lady of Mercy Academy has been an integral part of our community since its establishment. It provides a nurturing environment where girls can grow academically and personally while being instilled with values that will guide them throughout their lives. The closure would not only disrupt the education and personal growth opportunities for current students but also deprive future generations from benefiting from this unique educational experience.According to data from National Coalition for Girls' Schools (NCGS), girls’ schools create a culture where academic achievement is valued and expected; on average, graduates from all-girls schools have higher SAT scores compared to their co-ed peers. We must not let this beacon for female empowerment be extinguished. We urge local authorities and stakeholders to reconsider this decision and explore alternative solutions that would allow Our Lady Of Mercy Academy to continue its mission in educating young women leaders. Please sign this petition to show your support in preventing the closure of Our Lady Of Mercy Academy.

Preserve Fairview Road Wetlands and Open Space in Skillman, Montgomery, NJ

As residents of Skillman, Montgomery, NJ, we am deeply concerned about the future of the wetlands on Fairview Road . This area is not just a piece of land; it's home to diverse wildlife including tree frogs, foxes, large woodpeckers and various birds. The potential development of this property threatens their habitat and disturbs the natural balance. Moreover, developing this property could lead to significant flooding in our neighborhood . Our community has already experienced issues with Flooding, heavy traffic and congestion at odd hours due to the narrow roads and historic one lane bridgethat are ill-equipped for increased use.The charm of our quiet residential area lies in its tranquility and closeness to nature. The development of the land would drastically alter this environment causing irreversible damage.we already are dealing with heavy traffic from the new developments and constructions that have taken place in the last few years. We urge local authorities to consider these concerns seriously. Let's preserve the wetlands on Fairview Road as an open space for future generations to enjoy while protecting our local wildlife from habitat destruction. We must act now before it's too late! Send Jesus Ruiz Home

I am petitioning for Jesus Ruiz who has been incarcerated for 39 years and has chronic medical conditions and we believe that at 68 years old deserves to come home to receive proper medical and nutritional care for his conditions. During these 39 years he has always maintained he was mistakenly charged. The judge and prosecutor stated Jesus was unable to rehabilitate therefore going out of the sentencing guidelines and giving him a sentence of life without parole. Usually for a 2nd degree murder charge the maximum is 40 years, of which Jesus has done 39 years if they would have given him the maximum sentence. Jesus has remained violent free for the 39 years he has been incarcerated, proving he is not a violent man, also proving the judge and prosecutor were mistaken. In a place like prison, it is extremely remarkable not have any violent altercations even when the person is not violent other people around are violent and provoke situations which may cause trouble. However, Jesus has been able to defuse any situation which arose with kindness and speaking the Word of God. Jesus turned his life to Christ in 1987 and for the last 35 years he has dedicated his life in preaching the word of God. During these years he has helped many others stay away from drugs and violence turning their lives to God.Jesus arrived in this country from Cuba in 1970 at the tender age of 15 with his mother, stepfather and his mentally challenged brother. His stepfather was a violent and abusive man and in one afternoon while beating Jesus' mother Jesus stepped in getting in-between his stepfather and mother to stop the beating. His stepfather retaliated by kicking Jesus out of the house leaving him homeless. At the age of 16 Jesus was out on the streets of Miami without a place to go and only speaking Spanish which at the time was very difficult to get a job or any kind of assistance. Unfortunately, Jesus found help in the wrong crowd. Many studies have shown extreme mental damage stemming from childhood abuse and traumas. We humbly ask you sign this petition to ask our Governor Ron DeSantis to please give Jesus Ruiz some relief in whichever manner he finds fit. We just want Jesus to come home to his family. We pray Governor DeSantis gives Jesus either of the available options which are clemency/commutation of sentencing, parole, medical conditional release or house arrest being monitored.Thank you for your time in reading our petition and considering joining us in this humanitarian cause for our loved one.For more information, please visit our website at www.sendjesushome.comThank you and May God bless you and yours.

Restore the Slobber Hog at Bud Walton Arena

As a lifelong Razorback fan and resident of Fayetteville, AR, I have witnessed the glory days when our beloved team won a national championship with the original Slobbering Hog logo proudly displayed on the court. This logo is not just an image; it represents our history, our pride, and our collective spirit as Razorback nation. In recent years, however, this iconic symbol has been replaced at Bud Walton Arena. This change has not only altered the aesthetic of our home court but also tampered with a cherished piece of Razorback tradition that holds deep sentimental value for many fans like myself. The Slobbering Hog logo was introduced in 1931 and remained as an emblematic representation of Razorback spirit until its replacement (source: University of Arkansas). It's more than just nostalgia; it's about preserving what makes us unique.By signing this petition, we are requesting that the university of Arkansas athletic department and Bud Walton Arena restore the original Slobbering Hog logo to its rightful place on their court. Let us bring back this symbol of unity and strength for all to see - from current students and staff to alumni and future generations who will carry forward our legacy. Please sign this petition to help restore an integral part of Razorback history.

Wiseburn High School Child Safety - Douglas St

My son was struck by a car while crossing the intersection of Douglas and Utah in El Segundo, CA. He looked both ways and even made eye contact with the driver, who unfortunately did not see him in the crosswalk. The vehicle hit him at a speed exceeding 25 MPH. Following this traumatic incident, we were informed by El Segundo PD that it is illegal for minors to ride bikes on crosswalks without a bike lane on a street that poses risks for injury. This personal tragedy has highlighted multiple urgent needs for improved traffic/public safety measures in the community. We are calling for -the installation of a traffic signal or stop sign at the corner of Douglas and Utah to ensure pedestrian safetyor re-engineering of Utah to move the stop sign located on Alaska and Utah that does not have a crosswalkbike lanes on southbound and northbound Douglas leading to Wiseburn High School located in El Segundo, Californiareduction of speed limit from 40 MPH to school zone speed limit of 25 MPH like the other schools located in El Segundo, CA.The lack of these crucial safety measures poses an ongoing risk to the children in the community as well as adults commuting in the area to school/work/businesses. According to Safe Kids Worldwide, road injuries are the leading cause of unintentional deaths to children in the United States. Let's prevent a potential death from occurring before it is too late.We urge local authorities to take immediate action towards implementing these changes that will make our streets safer for everyone - pedestrians, cyclists, drivers alike - reducing risks of accidents like what happened with my son. Please sign this petition urging El Segundo city officials to prioritize pedestrian safety by installing traffic signals/stop signs by re-engineering the street and creating bike lanes along Douglas Street.

Saddle River Flooding!

Residents along the Saddle River in Bergen County New Jersey have sustained increasingly more frequent major, minor and local flooding events since Hurricane Floyd 25 years ago and are at a 40% risk of having another Irene or Ida flood-like event within the next 15 years. The human and economic costs of flooding to our Communities are astronomical. The Army Corp of Engineers completed evaluations after Hurricane Floyd (September 1999) and identified a mitigation project that had a highly favorable cost-benefit ratio of 1.6:1. So, why hasn’t anything been done yet? While flooding along the Saddle River occurred prior to Hurricane Floyd in 1999, the frequency and intensity of storms have been magnified dramatically by urban development continues to threaten our Communities. Hurricane Irene in 2011 was devastating and was only second to Hurricane Sandy as the costliest natural disaster in the history of New Jersey with economic losses to businesses of up to $30 Billion. And the area was hit hard again by Hurricane Ida in 2021 and most recently by 2 major storms in December 2023 and January 2024. The Bergen County residents deserve better and should not have to lose sleep every time we hear a storm is headed our way!We appreciate that Congressman Pascrell testified before the House Transportation and Infrastructure Subcommittee in January seeking federal resources to address flooding issues in NJ. The Lower Saddle River Flood Protection Project was authorized in 1986 to study flooding issues along the Saddle River and Sprout Brook. The NJDEP must assess any possible contamination ASAP so the Army Corp of Engineers could provide remediation prior to performing critical flood mitigation. It’s time to secure Federal and State funding and to mobilize the Army Corp of Engineers and NJ Department of Environmental Protection to act now!

((((( ~~~ The Airline Travelers Right to Know Act - H.R. 7962 ~~~ )))))

We, the undersigned, call upon lawmakers to support The Airline Travelers Right to Know Act (H.R. 7926), which mandates air carriers to disclose vital information regarding potential Toxic Fumes Exposure to passengers, pilots, and cabin crew employees. This legislation is crucial for ensuring transparency and accountability within the airline industry. It establishes protocols for immediate notification of Toxic Fumes events, ensures all affected individuals are informed and provided with necessary support and resources, mandates disclosure of information about potential exposure, requires operators to inform all crewmembers of recent exposure, and imposes civil penalties for violations. In 2018, I personally was exposed to toxic fumes (Tricresyl Phosphate -TCP, Carbon Monoxide) and other harmful chemicals that I still don't know of. As a result, I was diagnosed with a chemical concussion, a classic brain injury case. As a single mom, this has taken a toll on me in many ways that 'no one' will 'ever' understand. I currently have blurry vision (and wear glasses now), migraines, cognitive disabilities - thinking, concentrating, multitasking, short-term memory loss, and other debilitating symptoms that affect my ability to function on a daily basis.Airline travel is a common mode of transportation for over 700 million Americans each year. However, there are often unseen events associated with flying, particularly concerning exposure to toxic fumes onboard aircraft. The Airline Travelers Right to Know Act addresses this critical issue by ensuring transparency and accountability within the airline industry. I am just one of the 700M, but I am using my voice to educate the other 699M to avoid the disabling symptoms I now have. Reinstate Chief Pederson

We, as a community need to speak out and be heard! Chief Pederson's "resignation" seems unjust and has sparked outrage within our town. Chief Pederson has been nothing but a positive influence on our community and has become highly respected in the short amount of time he's been appointed Chief of Police. 1 mistake does not define one's character. He's been described as kind, respectful, fair, professional, humble, funny and genuine. He's become a vital member of this town and deserves to remain in position as Chief of Police. His loudest supporters are that of our youth, who genuinely like & respect him, not only as a person, but as a figure of authority. Day in and day out, he could be found at one of the school buildings, interacting and building relationships with the students. He's respected among local law enforcement, many of whom spoke on his behalf at Monday's city council meeting. Please consider signing this petition to get Tim Pederson reinstated as New Hampton's Chief of Police, a position he clearly excels in and deserves to hold.

Get Cody Roberts In Prison

Cody Roberts is a 42 year old boy from Daniel Wyoming who thought it would be a great idea to chase a wolf pup to exhaustion before running it over with his snowmobile, he then proceeded to take the wolf pup to a local bar and show it off to all his friends, making more cruel and disgusting actions, like grabbing it and kissing it. After he was done he took that poor wolf pup behind the bar and shot it. Game and fish, according to Wyoming law, was only able to charge his with a fine of $250. We cannot let this slide our wolves in Wyoming were endangered and are sacred and DO NOT deserve this kind of cruel display. Help us show our Wyoming govt that we do not condone such action and want to call for heftier punishment on cruel actions against our wildlife. I personally would like to call for Roberts to receive a heftier fine along with jail time, I believe that Roberts deserves a felony over this and should lose his gun rights. Cody Roberts is no hunter and will NOT be recognized as one, he deserves to be recognized as a FELON and should have all the 'pleasantries' that come with that

Voice of the Students: Restoring Max Blalock to William & Mary's Core

Dear William & Mary Community,We write to you today with heavy hearts as we grapple with the news of our cherished campus minister Max Blalock's impending termination from the Williamsburg Wesley Foundation. Max is not just a campus minister. For fourteen years, he has been an integral part of our community, epitomizing the values of belonging and service that we hold dear.Last month, leaders of the Virginia Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church informed Rev. Max Blalock that Bishop Sue Haupert-Johnson had decided that he will no longer serve as Campus Minister of the William & Mary Wesley Foundation beginning July 1, 2024. This decision marks the end of Max’s 14 years serving at William & Mary Wesley. In making this decision, Bishop Haupert-Johnson did not appoint Max to any other position in the Virginia Conference, which has led Max to look for employment outside of the United Methodist Church. This petition serves as the appeal of William & Mary students, alumni, parents, and friends to ensure Max remains at William & Mary in some capacity in the next step of his career, ideally as a staff member at the college.Max's excellence is palpable in the relationships he has cultivated, ensuring every individual feels valued and respected. Belonging and service are not just principles for Max but actions he lives out in his work and life on our campus and in the greater Williamsburg community. He is a constant source of support, always just a text away at any hour of the day for his many campus and community partners and students.Max's impact extends far beyond individual acts of kindness. Through his love and outreach, he creates a space of radical inclusivity at the Wesley House and Campus Ministry, where students of all backgrounds find solace and support, especially those of marginalized backgrounds. Students often find a sense of belonging through Max’s compassion, surpassing even that of their own families.Max's dedication knows no bounds. He goes above and beyond, answering the call at all hours, whether it is going with a student to court, offering emergency housing to students in need, or feeding over 90 students staying on campus for spring break. He has also helped establish the first on-campus food pantry for students and staff, mentoring a new generation of student leaders through initiatives such as Food for All and the Wesley Leadership Team. Truly, Max has dedicated himself to the student body and the Greater Williamsburg Community.Max's advocacy for equity and justice extends beyond our campus borders. He serves on the Basic Needs Task Force and partners with community leaders to find sustainable solutions. Max has been a core component to our campus’s community, serving as a great advocate for many important issues on campus, and a powerful ally to students of all ethnicities, races, religions, sexual orientations, and gender identities. Max is far more than a campus minister, serving as mentor, counselor, and friend to students of all backgrounds, earning the trust, respect, and love of the entire campus community. He is every student’s champion. The loss of Max would leave a significant void on our campus, depriving countless students of a source of comfort and guidance. We implore the administration and the wider community to recognize Max's irreplaceable contributions and to prioritize retaining him. The students hope that he will be considered for other roles at our institution. Now, more than ever, we need leaders like Max who embody the very best of William & Mary and tirelessly advocate for the well-being of our students.Together, let's ensure that Max's legacy of compassion and service continues to shape and enrich our campus for years to come.In solidarity,The Students of William & Mary

Petition for a Federal Investigation into the Suspicious Death of James Cooper

We, the undersigned, are deeply troubled by the untimely and suspicious death of James Cooper, a 23-year-old Wisconsin native who had recently relocated to Mississippi because his girlfriend had told him that doctors told her she had a heart condition and she had about one month left to live (which was not true). In less than two weeks,he was tragically found hanging from a pole under circ*mstances that demand a thorough and impartial investigation. The chain of events leading to James's demise is riddled with troubling inconsistencies and questionable actions:Last Moments with girlfriend: James was last seen walking out the backdoor of the apartment where he was living, following a disagreement with his girlfriend on May 8th, 2023.Misleading Statements: A witness has come forward saying that when they went to this girlfriend and expressed their concern that James was missing, the girlfriend assured them that she had spoken to James’ mother and that she had said that James had supposedly texted his mother, claiming to be in the woods by water with his duffel bag planning to end his own life. However, this was later revealed to be a falsehood, as there was no communication between this girlfriend and James's mother until after James body was found.Discovery of the Body: Two days later, James was discovered hanging from a pole with a zip tie on his finger and with nothing around for him to step on to get up the pole to hang himself, in line with the location of where the girlfriend had previously mentioned. Suspicion also arises from her refusal to provide James's mother's contact information during his absence and even after his tragic death.Questionable Investigative Handling: The Investigators swiftly ruled James's death as a suicide, despite the existence of concerning contradictions in the case. This conclusion was reached with only a visual examination.James's Demeanor: It is crucial to note that James exhibited no signs of being suicidal. He had plans for that very day, including obtaining his ID, and had secured a new job, a haircut appointment for the next day, and plans to move into his own apartment later that week. (He did not know that this girlfriend had already told the landlord that she no longer wanted the apartment PRIOR to his death).Inconsistent Evidence: James was discovered with cords of wire wrapped around his neck, similar to those found on telephone poles. The method of binding, the type of wire, and the position in which he was found in a sitting manner on the ground rather than hanging, all point to suspicious circ*mstances. It is highly improbable that an individual, could have accomplished this act alone. There is actually more evidence of foul play that we can not reveal at this time.James's untimely and suspicious death has left us with grave concerns. We believe that a comprehensive, transparent, and impartial investigation is required to uncover the truth and deliver justice to James and his grieving family. This petition demands the following actions:Federal Investigation: We call for a Federal investigation into the circ*mstances of James Cooper's death, which should include a thorough examination of the local Sheriff’s conduct, as well as the legitimacy and qualifications of the medical examiner involved.Accountability: All parties involved in this case, including the alleged girlfriend and any others connected to this tragedy, should be held accountable for their actions or omissions. This will send a resounding message that such crimes will not go unpunished, ensuring that potential wrongdoers are not emboldened by the lack of justice. We insist on a full and impartial investigation into the troubling circ*mstances surrounding James Cooper's death to ensure that justice is served and the truth prevails. We must not ignore this tragic event and must do all in our power to bring those responsible to account. For further details, please visit www.Crimes-Uncovered.comWe, the undersigned, unite in the pursuit of truth and justice for James Cooper.

This petition is born out of a personal tragedy. A 16-year-old non-binary student, Nex Benedict, was brutally beaten to death by three older girls at Owasso High School in Oklahoma. This horrific incident did not occur in isolation but followed a wave of anti-LGBTQ+ rhetoric spearheaded by our State Superintendent Ryan Walters. His extremist views have not only fostered an environment of hate and intolerance but also endangered the lives of our children.Recently, he went as far as hiring stochastic terrorist, Chaya Raichik, known for her role behind the infamous social media hate machine, "Libs of TikTok," even though she doesn't live in Oklahoma, have children who attend school here, nor does she have any qualifications to justify hiring her for the position. Her only connection to Oklahoma come by way of her social media platform. Just weeks prior to her hiring, one such instance, typical of her posts, actually led to multiple days of bomb threats and school evacuations in an Oklahoma elementary school after one librarian was targeted by her platform. Our LGBTQ+ kids deserve better than this; they deserve a safe learning environment free from hate and fear. The fact that Walters' actions have directly contributed to creating an atmosphere where such violence can occur is unacceptable. We cannot stand idle while those responsible for shaping our children's future perpetuate bigotry and endanger their lives. We demand the immediate resignation or impeachment of Ryan Walters from his position as Oklahoma State Superintendent. Please sign this petition today if you believe in justice for Nex Benedict and all other LGBTQ+ students who are at risk under Walter's leadership.

Grant School Holidays for Orthodox Christmas and Easter to All Students

Since kindergarten, I, along with many of my friends, have been facing a recurring issue. We have had to miss school days due to our observance of Coptic Christmas and Easter. This has resulted in us missing tests and numerous assignments which has made our academic journey more challenging than it should be. Coptic Christians make up about 10% of Egypt's population (source: Pew Research Center) and there are significant communities in the United States, Canada, Australia among others. Yet despite this substantial number, recognition for our holidays is often overlooked by educational institutions. We believe that all religious holidays should be treated with equal respect and consideration. Just as students observing other religious holidays are given time off school to celebrate with their families without academic penalties, so too should those observing Coptic Christmas and Easter. The lack of recognition not only disrupts our education but also sends a message that our traditions are less valued. It's time for change. We call upon educators at all levels - local schools boards, state education departments and national policy makers - to recognize these important dates in the Coptic calendar as official school holidays. Please sign this petition if you believe in equality for all students regardless of their religious beliefs or practices. Your signature can make a difference in ensuring fair treatment for all students across diverse cultures and religions.Marize and I, two Egyptian Coptic girls, have embarked on an inspiring journey to create change that has been etched into our hearts. Our personal experiences have driven us to start a movement aimed at securing a day off for Coptic Christmas and Easter, events so deeply ingrained in our culture and faith. We've known the struggle of trying to balance school with our religious observance, and it left us profoundly affected. Missing out on these sacred days was a constant tug at our souls. With unwavering love for our faith and a fervent desire to uphold our heritage, we decided it was time to make a change. From the very depths of our hearts, we set out to advocate for the recognition and respect of these holy celebrations. Ours is a movement forged in love and faith, and it has touched the hearts of many who share our passion for preserving tradition and fostering a more inclusive society. Together, we are paving the way for a world where religious observance and cultural heritage are cherished without compromise.Description written by Maya MikhailPetition started by Marize Ayoub and Maya Mikhail with help from Maximus Shehata

Halt Overdevelopment and Preserve Wetlands in Sicklerville, NJ

As a resident of Sicklerville, I have personally experienced the negative impacts of overpopulation due to rapid development. My house was burglarized and it took the police over an hour to respond. On another occasion, an ambulance took just as long to arrive when urgently needed. This is not acceptable.Sicklerville is being overcrowded by apartments being built at an alarming rate. Recently, over 300 apartments were constructed on Sicklerville road and now there are plans for almost 500 more on Chews Landing Road - a mere couple miles down the street. This area is part of our precious wetlands which play a crucial role in maintaining biodiversity and mitigating climate change. This rapid development poses many risks to our environment as well as safety concerns from overpopulation. Cross Keys Road has already seen too many accidents due to increased traffic congestion caused by these developments.Furthermore, these projects do not take into account that we will need more police officers, EMTs and teachers to support this population increase safely. According to data from the U.S Census Bureau (2019), Winslow Township's population has grown by nearly 10% in the last decade alone - significantly higher than the state average growth rate.We must protect our community from further harm by halting these developments until proper measures are taken into consideration for public safety services enhancement and environmental protection. Please sign this petition if you believe in preserving Sicklerville's natural beauty while ensuring public safety services can adequately serve its residents.

Save West Valley! Stop Costco from destroying our neighborhood

SAN JOSE CITY COUNCIL AND MAYOR MAHAN:The stakes are high for West San Jose, Saratoga, and Campbell residents and businesses. We must act now to STOP COSTCO from taking over the Westgate West Shopping Center (where Orchard Supply Hardware used to be).Join us in opposing Costco's plan to shoehorn a 40-foot high, 4-acre warehouse with rooftop parking on an undersized lot in the West Valley, directly across from Prospect High School and right in the front yards of established residential neighborhoods. If San Jose allows this project to proceed, the 10,000 – 12,000 daily vehicle trips and gridlock that comes with every Costco:RISKS THE SAFETY OF OUR CHILDREN as they walk, bike, and drive to school.IMPEDES OUR ABILITY TO TRAVEL to and from our homes, our elementary, middle, and high schools, and to Highways 85 and 280.IMPACTS OUR ABILITY TO ACCESS AND PARK near Trader Joe’s, Starbucks, and other Westgate West and nearby stores/businesses.POTENTIALLY SLOWS DOWN EMERGENCY SERVICES that need to get to us quickly. Why does the City of San Jose want to jeopardize West Valley’s future by supporting this project? There are already two Costcos within 6 miles in more appropriate light industrial areas. There are 1700 new housing units planned right across the street from the proposed site. There will be lasting harm to the quality of life for West Valley residents and businesses. The residents of West Valley DO want a strong and economically viable shopping center but not at the expense of our safety and quality of life. We envision a community center that combines shopping, housing, entertainment, restaurants, and health clubs, creating a vibrant village that will serve the whole community.San Jose City Government: VOTE NO on the Costco warehouse project. Endorse instead more forward thinking and appropriate alternatives that will transform Westgate West and the West Valley into a pedestrian and bicycle friendly, transit-oriented, mixed use Urban Village consistent with the Envision San Jose 2040 plan.We can and must do better to Save West Valley!NOTE: We want to make sure we get an accurate count of our supportive neighbors. STOP THE 200-FOOT TALL LDS CHURCH @ LONE MOUNTAIN LAS VEGAS

While we respect the religious freedom and contributions of the LDS Church, we firmly believe that any development MUST adhere to existing zoning regulations to protect the integrity of our community. Our residential neighborhood is defined by its tranquil atmosphere, dark skies, limited traffic, and breathtaking vistas, particularly those of Lone Mountain. These qualities are not only essential to our quality of life but also contribute to the unique character and charm of our community. We call upon the LDS Church to reconsider its plans in light of the concerns raised by the community and explore alternative locations that align more closely with the established zoning guidelines. In conclusion, we implore our fellow residents, local politicians, and all stakeholders to stand united in preserving the integrity of our residential neighborhood. Urge Games Workshop to Stop Gaslighting Fans and Reinstate Male-Only Custodians

As a lifelong fan of Warhammer 40k, I have always found solace and joy in the rich, imaginative universe that Games Workshop has created over the past 30+ years. However, recent changes have left many fans like me feeling ignored and disrespected. We are calling on Games Workshop to cease gaslighting their fan base and bring back male-only custodians and cease the notion that female custodians have always existed. This orwellian esoteric concept of just shoehorning female custodians into the lore and stating "they have always been around for 10,000 years", yet have never been mentioned in literature art nor media is a disgrace to the franchise. The company's decision to alter the gender dynamics of custodians has been met with widespread disappointment among the community. Many fans feel that this change undermines the lore's established canon without adding any meaningful diversity or representation.Furthermore, we believe that Games Workshop should focus more on developing Sisters of Silence characters. These female warriors play a vital role in Warhammer lore but have been largely overlooked in recent years and neglected when it comes to there model range. We understand that change is an integral part of any evolving narrative. Yet, it is crucial for these changes to respect the established lore and meet fans' expectations rather than alienating them.By signing this petition, you are standing with countless Warhammer 40k fans who want their voices heard by Games Workshop. Let us work together to preserve what we love about our beloved game while encouraging positive growth within its universe. Warhammer is for everyone, but changing the lore to cater to everyone dilutes its uniqueness and grimdark aspect. Please sign this petition today, for the glory of the God Emperor.

The Siwas should apologize to XOMG Pop and the former members

Even after the truth comes out about who the Smiling Siwas really are behind closed doors, JoJo and Jess still refuse to take accountability for their actions. They would rather run away and hide and erase history just to cover their asses. They recently deleted all their XOMG Pop content house videos. Why? Because they're self absorbed people that refuse to humble up. It's time to stop. JoJo and ESPECIALLY Jess need to apologize to the girls in their group and they definitely need to apologize to the girls out of their group and pay them what they are freaking owed! And they also need to put some gaps between their tour dates. They need to stop treating their students like Pokémon and pitting them against each other. They are a group. And most importantly, they need to have more consideration for the girls' health. No more "Put a maxi pad on it." No more making them wear sweatshirts and sweatpants and turning the heat up to max and forcing them to rehearse in it to the point where they can't breathe, they get sick, throw up, can't even walk, pass out, and almost die! These are CHILDREN for Christ's sake! You don't do that to children! No more screaming in their earpieces while they're onstage in front of hundreds of people. No more violating your own contracts! Demand that the University of California–Santa Barbara Administration End the Persecution of Jewish Student Body President Tessa VekslerWe, the undersigned, condemn the organized attempts to persecute and intimidate Tessa Veksler, the student body president of UC Santa Barbara. Tessa Veksler has worked tirelessly to serve her constituents, promoting a safe environment for all students in the face of the hostile environment on college campuses nationwide since October 7th. For her leadership, Tessa Veksler has been subjected to a stream of intimidation, harassment, and threats from her fellow students, who have targeted her because of her Jewish and Zionist identity. These actions now culminate in a discriminatory petition to recall Tessa Veksler from her elected position as President. We, the undersigned, call on the UCSB administration to end the persecution of Tessa Veksler, enforce its anti-discrimination policies, and stop this illegal recall from proceeding any further. On October 7, 2023, the terrorist group Hamas invaded Israel and perpetrated the deadliest antisemitic attack on Jews since the Holocaust. On October 9, Tessa Veksler posted an expression of support for the victims on her personal Instagram account. Ever since, Tessa has been harassed, defamed, and threatened on the basis of her Jewish ancestry and ethnicity. The latest effort to target Tessa includes fellow students fabricating allegations to create a pretext for removing her from office simply because she is Jewish and a Zionist. The baseless allegations include claims that she has silenced students, supports rape and genocide, and shared her personal story for financial gain. There is no evidence to support the claims by the recall petition. Tessa Veksler has diligently worked to heal divisions on campus. She has put herself in uncomfortable situations to understand and address the needs of her fellow students. She has used her position to condemn racism and all forms of bigotry. She has fought doxxing attempts on social media, including successfully lobbying for the removal of posts by outside organizations on digital media platforms unconnected to UCSB. She fought to protect her fellow students even though Tessa herself has been the target of doxxing, such as when a fellow student posted her personal phone number and messages online. She has spoken out against harassment of others even though she has had to endure constant online hate, such as when students have posted vile threads and comments on numerous social media platforms. The recall petition, making increasingly absurd arguments, alleges issues with the appointment of the student government’s elections board. In fact, recruitment of the Elections Board is not the student body president’s responsibility. Nevertheless, Tessa Veksler repeatedly inquired for months about the vacant positions. The day the Elections Board Chair nominee was finally sent to Tessa, she sent it to the Student Senate. The recall proponents traffic in claims of conspiracy that have no basis in fact. They do so as a pretext for their true aims: take out Tessa, the Zionist – whatever the truth and whatever the cost. The campaign to recall Tessa Veksler because she is a Zionist Jew is discrimination. It violates university policy. It undermines democratic values. It is wrong, and it needs to end. If a democratically elected student leader who is Jewish cannot serve in student government without facing a stream of intimidation, harassment, and persecution, how can ordinary Jewish students be expected to feel protected on their college campuses? This attempt to silence Jewish voices is a threat to all students everywhere.OUR DEMANDS TO UNIVERSITY ADMINISTRATION:Immediately stop the recall proceedings pending against Associated Students President Tessa Veksler.Discipline anyone promoting and engaging in discriminatory and harassing conduct in violation of UCSB’s student code of conduct and any other relevant university policies.Implement stronger safety and security protocols for Jewish students.Issue a statement condemning antisemitic harassment and efforts to marginalize and exclude students on the basis of identity, including Jewish shared ancestry and ethnicity connected to Israel.Conduct a university-wide training program about antisemitism for administrators, staff, the Associated Students members, and all students to ensure they understand, identify, and stand up to antisemitism and its manifestations.JOIN US: We urge that you sign this petition to protect President Tessa Veksler and her equal right to serve as the elected leader of the student body. Together, as concerned students, community members, parents, and alumni, we can send a strong message that antisemitism and harassment of Jewish students will not be tolerated. Demand that the University of California–Santa Barbara Administration End the Persecution of Jewish Student Body President Tessa Veksler

We, the undersigned, condemn the organized attempts to persecute and intimidate Tessa Veksler, the student body president of UC Santa Barbara.

This attempt to silence Jewish voices is a threat to all students everywhere.

OUR DEMANDS TO UNIVERSITY ADMINISTRATION:

Immediately stop the recall proceedings pending against Associated Students President Tessa Veksler.Discipline anyone promoting and engaging in discriminatory and harassing conduct in violation of UCSB’s student code of conduct and any other relevant university policies.Implement stronger safety and security protocols for Jewish students.Issue a statement condemning antisemitic harassment and efforts to marginalize and exclude students on the basis of identity, including Jewish shared ancestry and ethnicity connected to Israel.Conduct a university-wide training program about antisemitism for administrators, staff, the Associated Students members, and all students to ensure they understand, identify, and stand up to antisemitism and its manifestations.

JOIN US:

We urge that you sign this petition to protect President Tessa Veksler and her equal right to serve as the elected leader of the student body. Together, as concerned students, community members, parents, and alumni, we can send a strong message that antisemitism and harassment of Jewish students will not be tolerated. Tessa Veksler is not going anywhere, and neither are we.

Demand Immediate Replacement of Matt Hoey on Tweed Airport Authority Board

As a resident deeply affected by the actions of Matt Hoey, I am calling for his immediate removal from the Tweed Airport Authority Board. His term expired on 6/30/2023 and per CT State statute, he should have served only two terms, each lasting four years for a total of eight years. Despite this clear mandate, Mr. Hoey continues to hold his position ten months past his term's expiration date. His refusal to step down is not just interrupting the democratic process but also showing contempt and disrespect towards residents who oppose airport expansion plans. This behavior is in direct violation of Sec. 15-120i of CHAPTER 267a TWEED-NEW HAVEN AIRPORT AUTHORITY ACT.The South Central Regional Council of Governments (SCRCOG) and every mayor in New Haven County bear responsibility for ensuring board members are replaced promptly once their terms end. The argument that Mr. Hoey needs to stay until a new person is chosen has proven weak and inexcusable as it has been ten months since his term ended. This situation raises serious questions about why this process isn't being conducted properly and urgently demands rectification. We must uphold our democratic processes and ensure that those who serve on such boards respect their terms as well as the residents they represent. Please sign this petition to demand immediate action from SCRCOG and all mayors within New Haven County to replace Matt Hoey on the Tweed Airport Authority Board without further delay.

Trains Not Lanes! Stop the Widening of US-23 in Ann Arbor

The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is studying the widening of US-23 in Ann Arbor in a project which includes three expansion alternatives.Expanding freeway capacity will worsen air and noise pollution, expands carbon emissions, and further commits our community to an auto-centric development pattern which runs counter to our local and state goals. It’s proven that new lanes do not “fix” congestion — people just drive more and land uses sprawl. Our demand is simple: build Trains Not Lanes!Once you've signed our petition, head over to www.trainsnotlanes.org to learn more and get involved! We will post regular updates to this petition to keep you informed.

Keep Natural Grass at Lafayette Elementary

We are the parents of current and former students at Lafayette Elementary in Chevy Chase, DC, and/or neighbors of the school (note: petition was broadened to include non-parent neighbors due to significant neighborhood interest, 4/19/24). We are signing this petition to make clear our concern and opposition to the plans presented by the Department of General Services on March 13, 2024 to replace the lower field at Lafayette with an artificial turf field. We object to the fact that DGS, DCPS, and DPR made this decision internally, without any community engagement, despite the clear requirement they do so under DC law (DC Code Section 10.171.03(h)) and their prior promises to allow for community review and input before reaching a final decision. To install an artificial turf field at an elementary school in 2024, at a time when the health and environmental risks associated with artificial turf (including exposure to PFAS/forever chemicals, dangerously elevated temperatures, and increased severity of injuries and infections) are becoming increasingly recognized, is irresponsible and dangerous. For all of these reasons, numerous other municipalities (including the city of Boston) and professional sports leagues are moving away from or banning artificial turf.As parents, our kids' health and safety is always paramount. However, we very much want them to have a well-maintained and playable field where they can enjoy recess, PE, and extracurricular sports. Luckily, recent advances in establishing and maintaining natural grass athletic fields have proven that it is possible to have high performance fields of natural grass with comparable costs for installation and maintenance.Important decisions about which materials are safest for our children and the environment should not take second place to convenience for our local government. We ask that DGS, DCPS, and DPR learn more about the health questions surrounding artificial turf and the possibilities of using engineered natural grass as a cost-effective alternative. We ask that they comply with DC law by informing and consulting with Lafayette parents and neighbors about this important decision for our community and our children, and that they honor previous commitments to maintain a natural grass field at Lafayette.

Urge Congress to Support Climate -Wildfire Plan by Rewilding 80,000 Gov-held Wild Horses

Amidst the growing urgency to address climate change and wildfire risks, Love Wild Horses Foundation (LWH), in collaboration with Advocates for Wild Equines (AWE), are calling upon Congress to take decisive action in a 2025 appropriations request. The proposed plan aims to rewild 80,000 government-held wild horses as a strategic measure in climate and wildfire mitigation efforts.LWH's is spearheading this bold initiative and innovative approach to leverage the natural eco-role of wild horses to restore and revitalize overgrazed grasslands, ultimately benefiting both the environment and local communities. At the heart of this initiative is a groundbreaking equine rewilding climate and wild fire resilience, land restoration study, currently underway in North Eastern Nevada. This study aims to demonstrate the positive impact of wild horses as a keystone species in sustaining and rejuvenating grassland ecosystems, while also mitigating the devastating effects of climate change and wildfires.Recent statistics highlight the pressing need for action. Over the past decade, the United States has incurred a staggering $54 billion in wildfire suppression costs, with the Department of the Interior and US Forest Service spending $23 billion alone. The National Interagency Fire Center reports that wildfires from 2013 to 2021 have ravaged over 64 million acres of land, posing a significant threat to communities, wildlife, and ecosystems.Love Wild Horses' groundbreaking equine rewilding design offers a promising solution to mitigate these risks. By reallocating resources from horse incarceration and removal to proactive management strategies, taxpayers stand to save approximately $99,787,000 annually. This resourceful approach not only addresses the ecological impact but also fosters economic sustainability. The proposed 2025 appropriations plan involves the restoration of 10 vulnerable grassland ecosystems across California, Colorado, Oregon, Nevada, and South Dakota. With an average cost of $5.5 million per state project site, this investment will enable the reintroduction of 80,000 wild horses, to roam freely on prairie lands, effectively revitalizing habitats and promoting biodiversity.Furthermore, this initiative will create green jobs for 10-50 local community members per study site, contributing to economic development and environmental stewardship. Additionally, undergraduate students will have the opportunity to participate in Supported Equine Rewilding, Climate Change, and Wildfire Mitigation-Land Revitalization Studies, receiving school credit and financial stipends. The urgency of this initiative is underscored by the endorsem*nt of influential figures such as Co-Founder of the band America, Dewey Bunnell, and his beautiful wife, Penny. Their advocacy emphasizes the importance of preserving America's wild beauty and heritage. At the end of April, this rock star couple will address members of Congress in D.C. in support of Love Wild Horses' 2025 appropriations request, and in support to save the wild horses with the Wild Beauty Foundation, whose gorgeous film was a 2024 academy award nominee, featuring one of America's hit songs “A Horse with No Name” composed and sung by Dewey Bunnell. As the world grapples with the escalating threats of climate change and wildfires, Love Wild Horses' rewilding initiative represents a proactive and sustainable approach to safeguarding our ecosystems and communities. Through collaborative efforts and strategic investments, we can pave the way for a more resilient and harmonious coexistence with nature.“We need to put the government imprisoned wild horses back on the land, so they can onceagain heal and protect the land and we need to do this right away, because the horses helpprevent wildfires and the damaging effects of climate change.” –Oglala-Lakota Chief Lee Plenty Wolf, Native Music Award Winning Drummer & Singer, and a Love Wild Horses' Board Member “Hey everybody this is Naima, Love Wild Horses Warrior Youth Director.
