It’s Monday Night Raw in Kansas City: What to expect before pro wrestling event (1)

Fresh off its biggest show of the year, World Wrestling Entertainment is bringing its weekly program to downtown Kansas City to cap off a five-day takeover of T-Mobile Center.

TKO Group Holdings, a media conglomerate that also includes Professional Bull Riders and Ultimate Fighting Championship, presents WWE Monday Night Raw on April 28. The event follows PBR’s Teams event Thursday, April 24, and UFC Fight Night Saturday, April 26.

The decades-long pro wrestling company hosted WrestleMania 41 April 19-20 in Las Vegas, which saw superstar Dominik Mysterio capture his first Intercontinental Championship, the same championship his father, Rey Mysterio, won at WrestleMania 25 in 2009.

The 28-year-old pro wrestler is a San Francisco 49ers fan, but told The Star that his winning ways give him common ground with the Kansas City Chiefs, the team that defeated the 49ers in two Super Bowls in the last five years.

He’s been receiving more cheers than boos as of late, he said, and is excited to see what the Kansas City crowd brings Monday night.

“I’ve grown so accustomed to getting booed out of the arenas for the past three years that this reaction I got in Vegas was unexpected, so I’m going to keep doing me, keep doing ‘Dirty’ Dom and see what happens in Kansas City,” Mysterio said.

“If they boo me, they boo me. If they cheer me, it’s because I’m the greatest Intercontinental Champion of all time.”

Along with Mysterio, several members of the WWE roster are set to throw down in the squared circle Monday night.

Here’s what to know if you’re headed to WWE.

How much are tickets to WWE Monday Night Raw?

Prices for upper bowl seats are still available in the 200 sections on AXS for WWE Monday Night Raw, and range from $40-$80 before fees. No lower bowl seats are remaining, and a few floor seats are left for $350 or $402.50 before fees.

Resale tickets on SeatGeek for lower-level seats begin at $117 before fees in section 122.

The doors to the T-Mobile Center open at 5 p.m., and the show begins at 6:30 p.m. Monday Night Raw will go live on Netflix at 7 p.m., and runs for around three hours.

Which pro wrestlers are showing up in Kansas City?

The card is subject to change in pro wrestling, but fans can expect to see the following superstars Monday in Kansas City:

  • Men’s World Heavyweight Champion Jey Uso
  • Women’s World Champion Iyo Sky
  • Women’s Tag Team Champion Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez

  • Men’s World Tag Team Champions “The New Day,” Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods
  • Rhea Ripley
  • Seth Rollins
  • AJ Styles
  • Becky Lynch
  • Bron Breakker
  • Finn Bálor
  • Penta

What can and can’t I bring to T-Mobile Center?

T-Mobile Center does not have a clear bag policy, but the venue encourages fans to pack lightly when attending. Your bag should not be larger than 12” by 6” by 12”. Don’t bring backpacks or chain wallets.

These other items are not allowed inside:

  • Artificial noisemakers

  • Beach balls and balloons

  • Cameras with detachable lenses

  • Coolers and containers

  • Laptop and tablet computers

  • Outside food and beverages

  • Pocket knives

  • Selfie sticks

  • Spurs

  • Umbrellas with spike-like points

  • Any type of weapon, fake weapon or object resembling a weapon

Where can I park in downtown Kansas City?

Downtown Kansas City has plenty of parking available near T-Mobile Center. The arena offers on-site parking in the red lot at 12th and Oak streets and the yellow lot at 13th Street and Grand Boulevard, which is the KC Live! garage.

You will have to purchase passes to these lots in advance online. Both lots cost $20 before online fees. Event parking opens three hours before the concert.

There are over 40,000 parking spaces in the downtown area. Many are paid lots, and street parking is available, though it may cost up to $40 during events like these.

You can also park farther away and take the free KC Streetcar to the stop 14th and Main streets, the closest to T-Mobile Center.

Where can I be dropped off and picked up for WWE Monday Night Raw?

Grand Boulevard and Oak Street in front of T-Mobile Center will be blocked off for WWE Monday Night Raw.

If you’re being dropped off by a family, friend, Uber or Lyft, they can take you as close to the 13th and Oak Street entrance as possible. They may also drop you off on streets that aren’t blocked off in the Power & Light District or farther away if walking isn’t an issue.

The same is true for picking up fans after the show. Communicate with your driver so they can find you once the show’s over.
