New comedy series, The Franchise, from producers Armando Iannucci (Veep, Avenue 5) and Sam Mendes (1917, Empire of Light), begins streaming next week.

HBO’s new series takes a satirical aim at the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), following the crew of a least favourite superhero movie franchise as they all get sucked into the outrageous chaos of creating superhero franchise films, from production dramas to cancelled celebrities.

The Franchise release date Australia

HBO’s new series, The Franchise, premieres Monday, 7 October on BINGE, with a new episode streaming weekly. For Foxtel users, it airs from Thursday, 10 October at 8.30pm, then on demand on Foxtel Now.

The Franchise Season 1 has been confirmed to consist of eight episodes.

How to sign up for BINGE?

The Franchise episodes have been confirmed to stream on BINGE. You will need a subscription in order to stream the show, as well as access BINGE’s complete catalogue of shows and movies.

There are three plans available when signing up, available on a monthly basis. First is the Basic (with ads) plan, streaming in HD on one screen at only $10 monthly. Next is the Standard plan, which allows streaming movies and shows on up to two screens in HD or 4K on selected content for $18/month.

What is The Franchise about?

The Franchise is a satirical comedy following the production team of an upcoming superhero flick. Trapped inside the dysfunctional world of franchise films where superhero movie entries don’t seem to end, the crew begins to question their careers and the future of cinema.
