I’d say the same about fans trashing the prospect of a guy coming on message boards too. Let the coaches choose who they want and don’t be a barrier they have to overcome.

Its crazy that there were a decent amount of people on this board that didn’t think he was worth one of our roster spots.

If I remember correctly, I think things were very quiet with Simas last year. Up until about a day or two before he committed.

According to this site he was 17th in the Big12 in overall defensive rating for all players. He was 2nd in the Big12 in blocked shots. He was 5th in the big12 in rebounds.

Yes he is not someone you can throw the ball to and go score. That's transparent. It's on Wes to put together an offense that doesn't need to rely on that. Plenty of other teams do it and have highly rated offenses.

But yes I do hope we can find a center that can score with his back to the basket, rebound like crazy, run the floor, block shots, guard the perimeter and maybe even shoot a 3pter. And do it for 30 minutes a game. Should be easy to do.

The Bearcats were also the best 2 point percentage defense in the Big 12 (even better than Houston who finished 3rd nationally in that stat and Iowa State who finished number 1 in the country in kenpom adjusted defense). The Bearcats gave up very little at the rim once Aziz became a fixture in the lineup. He was a huge advantage for this team on defense...

The difference that Aziz made in protecting the rim and rebounding the ball on both ends was gigantic! Yes, he can improve his game all around and get a stronger base to be able to absorb more contact, but UC is super fortunate to have Aziz!

Man those IU fans are an odd bunch. You’d think after smacking them around in football (pretty much anyone can do this) they’d hold their tongues. The way they’re describing us you’d think we would be a d2 directional school. Checks out though with how d baggy they were in 2021.

This was kind of a weird one. After playing his freshman year, he redshirted last year voluntarily.

They did at least a bit. He's from Ohio, went to the same HS as LeBron. His lead recruiter (at least on 247) is going to WVU so maybe that's where he ends up.

I like Hall a lot. Very smart and skilled offensive player with good size. He could pair well with ji*zzle. Also only a sophom*ore.

Same. Good passer. Good shooter. Can finish around the rim. Played PG at BYU but wouldn't need to here.. That would offer some really good additional ball handling and passing. I think he'd be a really good fit.

UC seems to be in about the same spot with Hickman as IU. Both schools have roughly the same NIL stash so, do we expect Adams to be the difference?

I would take a guy like him in a heartbeat! Not bashing Hickman, but this guy has big 12 experience and all the attributes listed above.

The bags IU is currently dropping on portal guys leads me to believe they have a notable edge in the NIL Department... Trilly reporting they're offering a combined 3m to three portal guys (Ballo, Carlyle, Rice)
